What this recall means for you
Some vehicles built with 37-inch tires may have had their wheel lug nuts tightened incorrectly at the factory. Over time, improperly tightened lug nuts can loosen, which may allow a wheel to separate from the vehicle.
A wheel coming off while driving greatly increases the risk of a crash. Owners should be especially alert to vibration, clicking or grinding noises, or a wheel that appears to wobble or sit unevenly.
Authorized Ford dealers will tighten or replace the wheel lug nuts as needed, free of charge. Owners who received a notification letter, or who want to confirm their vehicle is covered, can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (Ford recall number 22S59). You can also check your VIN for open recalls on the NHTSA website.
