Nova Bus LFS Recall 22V323: Bus Stop/Yield Sign Can Confuse Other Drivers, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 22V323, reported May 11, 2022, 307 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain Nova Bus LFS and LFS Artic buses, the momentary STOP and YIELD text message board repeats the signals already given by the stop lights and turn signals. The vehicles therefore do not fully meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108, which covers lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment.

The duplicate signal may confuse other drivers and road users about what the bus is doing, which increases the risk of a crash.

The repair is free. Nova Bus will coordinate with Prevost Service Centers to remove the momentary text message board and associated equipment. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 27, 2022. Owners can contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-800-350-6682, and should check their vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
