Ford Edge Recall 22V151: Rearview Camera May Show Blank or Distorted Image

NHTSA campaign 22V151, reported March 11, 2022, 78,376 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A software error in certain Ford Edge vehicles can cause the rearview camera to display a blank or distorted image while the vehicle is in reverse. This reduces your view of what is behind the vehicle.

When the camera image fails, you may not see people, children, animals, or objects behind your vehicle, which increases the risk of a backover crash. Keep in mind that the camera is an aid and you should still look over your shoulder and use your mirrors when backing up.

The rearview camera software will be updated free of charge, either by a dealer or through an over-the-air update. Owners were notified by mail starting April 29, 2022, and can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (Ford recall 22S14). You can also check your VIN for any open recalls on your vehicle.
