RAM 2500 Recall 22V140: Stability warning light may not come on when needed

NHTSA campaign 22V140, reported March 10, 2022, 370,437 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Ram 2500 and 3500 cab chassis trucks from 2019 to 2022, and Dodge Durango SUVs from 2021 to 2022, have an anti-lock brake control module whose software can keep the electronic stability control (ESC) warning light from turning on during some conditions. The vehicle may have a stability control problem without the dashboard alerting you.

If the ESC light does not illuminate when the system has a fault, you may not know the stability system is not working. That can increase the risk of a crash, particularly in slippery or emergency driving conditions.

An authorized dealer will update the anti-lock brake control module software at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed March 29, 2022. You can contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403 (recall number Z20), and you should check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
