- Problem
- Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Audi) is recalling certain 2022 Audi Q3 vehicles that failed to receive the software update under Recall 21V-825 (91CR). As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
- Risk
- A rearview camera that does not display an image reduces the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy
- Dealers will update the infotainment unit parameters, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 3, 2022. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Audi's number for this recall is 91DF.
- Notes
- Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
What this recall means for you
The rearview camera may fail to show an image when the vehicle starts to reverse, because of a software error. Without that image, the driver's view behind the vehicle is reduced, which raises the risk of a crash while backing up. This recall covers vehicles that did not receive the earlier software update under Recall 21V-825.
An authorized Audi dealer will update the infotainment unit parameters at no charge to you. Owner notification letters were mailed March 3, 2022. If you have questions, you can contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834 and reference Audi recall number 91DF.
You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) on the NHTSA website for any open recalls and schedule the free repair with a dealer.
