Altec Aerial Device Recall 21V884: Cracks May Cause Aerial Device Mounting Frame to Break Free

NHTSA campaign 21V884, reported November 15, 2021, 4,055 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Cracks may develop in the legs of the mounting frame on these aerial devices. Over time, this can cause the mounting frame side plate to break.

If a side plate breaks, the pedestal may separate from the truck frame. This increases the risk of injury to operators and others near the equipment.

Altec will repair the side plates as necessary or provide a repair kit, free of charge. Owners who have not yet received a notification letter, which was mailed January 13, 2022, can contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832 and reference recall number CSN 840. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
