Altec Aerial Device Recall 21V736: Cracked Mounting Frame Could Separate From Truck

NHTSA campaign 21V736, reported September 23, 2021, 2,115 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Cracks may develop in the legs of the mounting frame on certain 2011-2016 AT200A aerial devices. Over time, these cracks can cause the mounting frame side plate to break.

A broken side plate may allow the pedestal and truck frame to separate, which increases the risk of injury to operators and others nearby. Owners should stop relying on the device for work until it has been inspected or repaired.

Altec will repair the side plates as necessary or provide a repair kit, free of charge. Owners can contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832 and should check their vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
