Nissan Altima Recall 21V169: Tires may crack or separate, risking sudden loss of control

NHTSA campaign 21V169, reported March 11, 2021, 36,141 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some tires on these vehicles may have been cured (heat-molded) for too long during manufacturing. Over-cured tires can develop a break in the sidewall, or the belts can separate from the tread.

A sudden air loss or tread/belt separation can cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash.

The repair is free. Dealers will inspect the tires and replace them as needed at no charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 11, 2021. You can also contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 (recall number PC798), and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
