Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Recall 20V792: Front Center Seat Belt May Not Restrain Occupant in Crash

NHTSA campaign 20V792, reported December 17, 2020, 624,216 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some full-size Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups from the 2019 to 2020 model years have a problem with the seat belt brackets for the front center seat. The brackets may not be secured to the seat frame, so the belt may not properly hold an occupant in that seat.

If the bracket is not secured, the seat belt may not restrain a person sitting in the front center seat during a crash, which increases the risk of injury.

General Motors will notify owners, and authorized dealers will inspect the left-side and right-side front center seat belt bracket attachments and reassemble them correctly as needed, at no cost to you. Owners can contact GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, using recall number N202314670. Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is affected.
