What this recall means for you
Some 2020 SUVs may have insufficiently welded seams on the rear crossmember, a structural part of the vehicle frame. When the vehicle is towing, cracks can form at these seams, which may allow the rear crossmember to separate from the vehicle.
If the rear crossmember detaches, it can fall onto the road and become a hazard to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. Owners should take this recall seriously, especially if they tow with their vehicle.
Mercedes-Benz USA will notify owners, and authorized dealers will replace the rear crossmember free of charge. You can contact Mercedes-Benz USA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is affected.
