Chevrolet 5500HD Recall 19V835: Loose Rear Wheel Lug Nuts Can Let Wheels Separate

NHTSA campaign 19V835, reported November 20, 2019, 1,926 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some rear outer wheels on these trucks may not have had their lug nuts properly tightened when installed on the rear axles. Over time, loose lug nuts can come off, allowing the wheel to separate from the vehicle.

A wheel separating while the truck is driving greatly increases the risk of a crash, including loss of control and harm to the driver, passengers, and other people on the road.

The repair is free. Dealers will inspect the rear outer wheel lug nuts and tighten or replace them as needed. Isuzu will also notify owners directly. You can check whether your vehicle has any open recalls using your VIN, and you can contact Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020.
