RAM 1500 Recall 19V556: Dashboard May Fail to Show Warning Lights, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 19V556, reported July 26, 2019, 237 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The instrument cluster in certain vehicles may not properly illuminate driver warnings about the vehicle's systems. Because of this, the vehicle does not meet federal display requirements under FMVSS 101, Control and Displays.

If the cluster fails to show warnings, the driver may not be alerted to problems with the vehicle's systems. That lack of warning can increase the risk of a crash.

The remedy is free. Dealers will replace the instrument cluster at no charge. Owners will be notified by mail. To check whether your vehicle is affected, enter your VIN on the NHTSA recall lookup site or contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 (recall V83).
