RAM 1500 Recall 19V448: Spare Tire May Be Wrong Size, Risking Crash

NHTSA campaign 19V448, reported June 13, 2019, 27 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The spare tire supplied with certain vehicles may differ in size and required inflation pressure from what is listed on the tire placard label. Because the placard may not match the spare actually installed, a driver following it could inflate the spare incorrectly. An improperly inflated or mismatched spare increases the risk of a crash.

Dealers will replace the incorrect-size spare tire with the correct size at no cost to the owner. Owners can contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403, referencing recall number V67. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.

If you own a 2019 Ram 1500, contact an authorized dealer to schedule the free spare tire replacement, and check your VIN to confirm whether your truck is affected.
