Nissan Altima Recall 19V316: Fuel pump ring can loosen, risking leaks and fire

NHTSA campaign 19V316, reported April 18, 2019, 374 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain 2019 Nissan Altima vehicles with front-wheel drive and the 2.5-liter engine, the fuel pump lock ring may not be fully engaged. This can allow fuel to leak, and the vehicles do not meet federal fuel system integrity standards.

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. Owners should take this recall seriously and check whether their vehicle is affected.

Nissan will notify affected owners. Authorized dealers will inspect the fuel tank assembly free of charge. If the lock ring is disengaged, the dealer will tighten it to specification; if the ring is detached, the dealer will replace the fuel pump.
