Ford Mustang Recall 19V076: Blank Instrument Cluster at Startup Can Hide Speed and Warnings

NHTSA campaign 19V076, reported February 11, 2019, 4,212 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain 2019 Ford Mustang, Lincoln Nautilus, and Lincoln Navigator vehicles, the Instrument Panel Cluster Assembly may fail to function at vehicle start-up and show a blank display. The cluster is the part of the dashboard that shows information such as vehicle speed, fuel and temperature levels, and safety system warnings. The vehicles also do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 101 for controls and displays.

Driving with an inoperative cluster can increase the risk of a crash, because you may not be able to see your speed or important warning lights while driving. If your cluster is blank at startup, have the vehicle looked at as soon as you reasonably can.

Ford has notified owners, and authorized dealers will reprogram the Instrument Panel Cluster Assembly free of charge. Owners can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. You can also check your VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is affected.
