Nissan Altima Recall 18V922: Fuel Leak and Engine Stall Risk From Loose Fuel Line Clip

NHTSA campaign 18V922, reported December 20, 2018, 23,903 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A retainer clip that connects the low pressure fuel tube to the high pressure fuel pump may not have been locked into position. If the clip is unlocked, the fuel tube can shift and cause a fuel leak, which increases the risk of a fire. If the fuel tube fully disconnects, the engine can stall, which increases the risk of a crash.

Nissan will repair the problem free of charge. Dealers will route the fuel hose into the holding clip and lock the retainer clip into place, as necessary. Owners can contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 for more information.

To check whether your vehicle has an open recall, enter your VIN on the NHTSA recall lookup site or ask any authorized Nissan dealer to check it for you.
