RAM 1500 Recall 18V822: Passenger Seat Sensor May Loosen, Raising Airbag Injury Risk

NHTSA campaign 18V822, reported November 20, 2018, 23 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The seat track position sensor on the manually adjusted passenger seat may come loose and move out of position. When this happens, the sensor may not detect that the seat is in the full-forward position, so the frontal airbag may not adjust its deployment as intended. In a crash, this could increase the risk of injury to the passenger.

An authorized dealer will inspect the passenger seat track position sensor bracket and replace it if needed. The repair is free of charge. Owners will be notified by mail, but you can also contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 and reference recall UB7.

You can check whether your vehicle has any open recalls by entering your VIN on the NHTSA website or the manufacturer's recall lookup page.
