What this recall means for you
A casting defect in the automatic transmission case on certain 2019 Ford F-250, F-350 and F-450 Super Duty trucks may prevent the park pawl assembly from being properly secured. If that happens, the truck can move unintentionally even when it is in park.
Unintended vehicle movement increases the risk of a crash. Owners should be careful when parking, especially on slopes, and should not rely solely on the park position to keep the vehicle still.
Dealers will inspect the transmission case and replace the transmission if needed, at no cost to you. Contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (Ford recall number 18S36), and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
