What this recall means for you
Some vehicles may have door striker bolts that are shorter than intended. Because of this, the doors may not latch securely and could open during a crash, which does not meet federal door lock and retention requirements (FMVSS 206).
If a door opens in a crash, occupants face an increased risk of injury. Ford will notify affected owners, and the door striker bolts will be replaced at no cost at an authorized dealer. Owners can also contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and reference recall 18C06.
