What this recall means for you
Certain school buses from model years 2002 and 2003 are equipped with Kidde plastic-handle or push-button fire extinguishers that may become clogged. A clogged extinguisher may not discharge as expected, or may require excessive force to operate. In some models, the nozzle can also detach from the valve assembly with enough force to cause injury and leave the extinguisher unusable.
If a fire breaks out and the extinguisher does not work properly, the risk of injury increases. Owners should contact Daimler Trucks North America at 1-800-547-0712 (recall number FL-759), or Kidde at 1-855-262-3540 or www.kidde.com, to arrange a free replacement extinguisher. The recall is expected to begin March 30, 2018. Owners can also check their vehicle identification number for open recalls.
