Honda VT1300CX Recall 17V805: Fuel Tank Weld Gaps Can Cause Leaks and Fire Risk

NHTSA campaign 17V805, reported December 13, 2017, 20 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some Honda Fury motorcycles were fitted with a replacement fuel tank that may be missing welds around the mounting bracket. If those welds are absent, the bracket can separate from the tank, allowing fuel to leak. Fuel leaking near an ignition source can cause a fire.

Honda will notify affected owners. Authorized dealers will inspect the fuel tank welds and replace the fuel tank if needed, at no cost to you. The recall began December 14, 2017. To check whether your motorcycle is affected, use your VIN to look for open recalls, or contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138.
