Land Rover Range Rover Recall 17V679: Instrument Cluster May Go Blank, Hiding Vehicle Speed

NHTSA campaign 17V679, reported October 26, 2017, 21,998 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The instrument cluster display can intermittently go blank. When this happens, important information such as vehicle speed is no longer shown to the driver.

A blank instrument cluster removes speed and other key readings from view while you are driving, which increases the risk of a crash. If your instrument cluster goes blank, take care to keep an eye on your surroundings and find a safe place to stop when it is practical to do so.

Land Rover will notify owners, and an authorized dealer will update the vehicle software at no cost to you. The recall is expected to begin December 19, 2017. You can contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837 (Land Rover recall number N124), and check your VIN for open recalls.
