NHTSA campaign 17V499, reported August 10, 2017, 1,765 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain heavy-duty trucks that were modified by an aftermarket company to use cast aluminum Katla 8.5-inch road wheels may have wheels whose outer surface can fracture. A fracture can cause rapid air loss, which can lead to a loss of vehicle control and a higher risk of crash.

If your truck has these aftermarket aluminum wheels, contact American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) customer service at 1-248-926-0256, extension 500. AEV will notify owners, and dealers will replace the wheels with wheels of similar value at no cost to you.

You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your truck is affected.
