What this recall means for you
Some BMW 7 Series vehicles from 2013 to 2014 may have received an incorrect replacement left rear taillight assembly. The part does not meet federal lighting requirements, so the left rear light may be less noticeable to other drivers.
A taillight that is harder to see can make it more difficult for drivers behind you to notice your vehicle, which may increase the risk of a crash. BMW will notify affected owners, and authorized dealers will inspect the vehicle and replace any incorrect left rear taillight assembly at no cost to you.
You can check whether your vehicle is included by entering your VIN on the NHTSA recall website or by contacting BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.
