Newmar Dutch Star Recall 16V773: Wardrobe slide-out may extend unexpectedly, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 16V773, reported October 24, 2016, 19 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain motorhomes, the motor that moves the wardrobe slide-out may have been installed without a brake. Without that brake, the slide-out box can extend on its own when it should stay in place, which could increase the risk of a crash.

If you own a covered motorhome, the repair is free. Newmar will notify owners, and an authorized dealer will inspect the slide-out motor and replace it if needed at no charge. You can also contact Newmar customer service at 1-800-731-8300 to ask about your vehicle. Check your VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your motorhome is affected.
