Coachmen Galleria Recall 16V732: Incorrect cargo capacity label may lead to overloading

NHTSA campaign 16V732, reported October 12, 2016, 207 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The Cargo Carrying Capacity placard in these motorhomes lists two seat-belted locations, but the vehicle actually has up to five additional designated seating areas. Because the listed cargo capacity is inaccurate, the vehicle could be loaded beyond its safe limit.

An overloaded vehicle has a higher risk of crashing. Owners should not rely on the current placard to judge how much weight the vehicle can safely carry.

Forest River will notify owners, and an authorized dealer will install a corrected Federal Placard free of charge. You can contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-825-8628 with the recall number 225-10062016-0253, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
