What this recall means for you
Certain 2016 Tucson vehicles built between May 2015 and March 2016 have a hood latch problem. If the primary hood latch is released and the vehicle is driven, the secondary latch may not hold the hood securely, so the hood can open unexpectedly while the vehicle is in motion.
An open hood can block the driver's view of the road and increase the risk of a crash. If you own an affected vehicle, Hyundai will notify you, and you can also contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460 (Hyundai recall number 145).
The repair is free: an authorized Hyundai dealer will replace the secondary hood latch at no cost to you. Check your VIN for open recalls on the NHTSA website or with your dealer, and schedule the repair as soon as possible.
