What this recall means for you
Certain 2015-2016 Pierce vehicles built between November 2014 and September 2015 have front drive axles where the hex nuts on the flange yoke may not have been properly tightened. If those nuts are not tightened to specification, the driveshaft can disconnect from the drive axle.
A disconnected driveshaft causes a loss of propulsion, meaning the vehicle can lose power while driving, which increases the risk of a crash.
Owners will be notified by Pierce. Dealers will inspect the hex nuts and tighten them as necessary at no cost to you. You can also contact Pierce customer service at 1-888-974-3723, and you should check your VIN for open recalls.
