What this recall means for you
Water can leak into the windshield wiper motor on certain heavy trucks built between November 2010 and April 2015. Once water gets in, the wipers may stop working on the intermittent setting, which reduces the driver's visibility and raises the risk of a crash. Over time, the water can also cause corrosion that may lead to an electrical short and a fire.
The manufacturer is still developing and testing a fix. An interim letter was sent to owners on July 2, 2015, and the recall began on September 2, 2015. Owners should contact Kenworth customer service at 1-425-828-5000 and reference recall number 15KWF.
The repair will be provided free of charge at an authorized dealer once it is available. Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls, and contact the dealer or Kenworth if you have questions about your truck's eligibility.
