Thor Motor Outlaw Recall 15V224: Motorhome Missing Water Weight Label Can Cause Overloading

NHTSA campaign 15V224, reported April 15, 2015, 168 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2016 Thor Motor Coach motorhomes built between February and April 2015 may have a missing water weight entry on the Occupant and Cargo Carrying Capacity label. Without that information, owners may load the vehicle to its limit without counting the water carried onboard, so the motorhome can be overloaded.

An overloaded motorhome may lose control, which increases the risk of a crash. The vehicles also fail to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 120 on load carrying capacity information.

Thor Motor Coach will notify owners and send a new label with the correct information at no cost. Owners can call Thor Motor Coach customer service at 1-877-500-1020. You can also check your vehicle identification number for open recalls.
