Keystone Cougar Recall 15V207: Wheel studs can break, risking a wheel detaching

NHTSA campaign 15V207, reported April 7, 2015, 2,260 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2015 trailers from Dutchmen and Keystone have wheel studs that can break. The studs attach the wheels to the axle hubs, so a failure can allow a wheel to come off while the trailer is in use.

If a wheel detaches, the trailer can lose stability and the risk of a crash increases. Owners should take this seriously and not wait for a problem to appear.

The repair is free. Keystone will notify owners, and authorized dealers will replace the wheel hubs at no charge. To check whether your trailer is included, contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369 (Keystone recall number 15-230), and check your VIN for open recalls.
