Audi Q3 Recall 15V200: Sunroof May Keep Closing After Engine Is Off

NHTSA campaign 15V200, reported April 3, 2015, 3,646 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

If the vehicle is turned off while the sunroof is closing, the sunroof may keep closing instead of stopping. This can happen on certain 2015 Audi Q3 vehicles built between April 4, 2014, and November 5, 2014, and means the sunroof does not meet federal safety requirements for power-operated roof panels.

The danger is an increased risk of injury if the sunroof is closing while the vehicle is off and an occupant is in its path. Children and passengers should be kept clear of the sunroof area, especially when getting in or out of the vehicle.

The remedy is free. Dealers will update the sunroof control module software at no charge, and Audi will notify owners. You can contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834 (Volkswagen recall number 60C1). You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
