Jeep Grand Cherokee Recall 15V115: Fuel Pump Relay Can Fail, Causing Sudden Stalling

NHTSA campaign 15V115, reported February 27, 2015, 339,525 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The fuel pump relay inside the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM-7) can fail in certain 2012-2013 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. When it does, the engine can stall without warning while you are driving.

A sudden stall increases the risk of a crash, since you may lose power unexpectedly in traffic or at highway speeds. This recall expands an earlier recall (14V-530) to cover additional vehicles. Note that this recall has been superseded by recall 19V813.

If you own an affected vehicle, check your VIN for open recalls and contact an authorized dealer. Dealers will replace the fuel pump relay with one located outside the TIPM, and the repair is free. You can also contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403, referencing recall number R09.
