What this recall means for you
The flexible front brake hoses on these vehicles may rupture, causing brake fluid to leak out. Once one or both hoses fail, the vehicle may take a longer distance to stop, which raises the risk of a crash.
If you own one of these vehicles, watch for warning signs of a brake problem, such as a brake warning light, a soft or sinking brake pedal, or reduced braking response, and have the vehicle inspected promptly if you notice any of them. Brake fluid loss can also be a sign of a leak, so check your brake fluid level if you are unsure.
The repair is free. Authorized Land Rover dealers will replace the left and right front brake hoses at no cost to you. Owners can contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837, referencing recall P054, and should check their VIN for any open recalls.
