What owners report

2008-01-18, Seat Belts
ALL FOUR OF THE SEATBELT ASSEMBLY HAVE FAILED, THIS WAS DISCOVERED BY ACCIDENT WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED SWIFTLY MY SON RECEIVED VERY MINOR INJURIES BUT THIS INCIDENT PROMPTED US TO HAVE ALL BELTS CHECKED AT THE LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP AND ALL OF THE SEAT BELTS WERE DISCOVERED TO BE FAULTY NOT WORKING. THIS IS A 1995 JEEP CHEROKEE WITH ONLY 84,000 MILES. THIS WAS REPORTED TO THE CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT AS I AM SCARED THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF SIMILAR FAILED SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY'S THAT WILL ONLY BE DISCOVERED NOT TO BE WORKING IN AN EMERGENCY WHEN THEY NEED TO WORK THE MOST, I THINK ALL VEHICLES OF A SIMILAR AGE FITTED WITH THIS BRAND OF SEAT BELT SHOULD BE CHECKED AS SOON AS POSSIBL

I PURCHASED A USED SUV AND NOTICED THAT AFTER DRIVING FOR APPROX. 30 MINUTES THE CAR APPEARS TO HAVE DIFFICULTY MAKING A TURN. WHEN I DISCUSS THIS MATTER WITH TWO OTHER PERSONS WHO HAVE THE SAME CAR AS I, I WAS INFORMED THAT THEIR CAR HAS THE SAME IDENTICAL PROBLEM. ONE OWNER HAS HAD THE PROBLEM CORRECTED BY THEIR MECHANIC, THE OTHER CANNOT FIND THE REASONING. *NM
2004-10-19, Power Train
WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DRIVER TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO DO SO. HOWEVER, THE DRIVER WAS UNABLE TO SHIFTED GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
