All tread gone. verified proper inflation and appropriate driving style on AWD vehicle. Front tires are different size and appear to have held up better. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JAGUAR XJ. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HIS WIFE WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATED TO APPROXIMATELY 50-60 MPH. THE CONTACT STATED THE DRIVER APPLIED THE BRAKES HOWEVER, THE BRAKES FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER KEPT THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED UNTIL THE VEHICLE FINALLY CAME TO A STOP. THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE IF THERE WERE ANY WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT CONTACTED THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,900.
I WAS CALMLY DRIVING SLOWER THAN 35 MPH ON A CITY STREET WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY SLOWED DOWN AND STOPPED RESPONDING TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. WHEN I TRIED TO STEP ON THE GAS I HEARD A BIG EXPLOSION-LIKE SOUND. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR ACCELERATED TO WHAT SEEMS LIKE OVER 100 MPH AND THE BREAKS DID NOT WORK DESPITE ME PRESSING THE BREAKS SEVERAL TIMES. I SHOT INTO 3 CARS AHEAD OF ME THAT WERE AT THE RED LIGHT. THE OTHER CARS RECEIVED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE; I SAW THAT OTHERS WERE INJURED. MY CAR WAS COMPLETELY DAMAGED/CRUSHED IN THE FRONT AND A FIRE HAD BROKEN OUT. THE AIRBAGS HAD DEPLOYED AND I WAS PRETTY MUCH PINNED TO THE SEAT.
