2026-10-26, Fuel/Propulsion System
My 2011 Jaguar XF 5.0L V8 developed a serious fuel leak involving a cracked flange on top of the fuel tank. The problem initially presented as a strong raw gasoline odor around the vehicle, particularly after driving. The gasoline smell was noticeable near the rear of the vehicle, eventually became apparent around the entire exterior, and entered the passenger compartment through the air-conditioning vents. Initially, the odor was more noticeable when the fuel tank was full, but it later occurred even when the tank was approximately half full. An independent mechanic inspected the vehicle and identified a cracked flange on top of the fuel tank. The mechanic confirmed that gasoline was leak

I just recently purchased the car from a dealer here in Salt Lake City. But suddenly began to smell fuel mostly in the backseat area inside the car. I decided to investigate and found there is a leak underneath the rear passenger side of the car which appears to be fuel looks like it may be mixed with the little oil hard to say it's a pretty steady drip especially if I'm parked uphill. This is definitely a safety hazard being that it is fuel and could easily cause a fire putting me my family and others at risk. I noticed there was a recall on these vehicles it is a Jaguar XF 2011 but it looks like it has been closed from what I can tell. I'm hoping that that's not the case and we can get thi
