I BELIEVE IT IS SAFE TO SAY THAT WHEN THE KEY TO A VEHICLE IS TURNED TO THE OFF POSITION, THE ENGINE SHOULD BE TURNED OFF WITH IT. HOWEVER, AS SHOWN TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY WITHIN THE PICTURE I HAVE PROVIDED, MY ENGINE IS STILL RUNNING AND CAN BE REVVED WHILE THE KEY IS NOT PRESENT. MAKE NO MISTAKE, THIS IS A FULLY STREET LEGAL BIKE THAT HAS NOT BEEN MODIFIED FOR TRACK/PROFESSIONAL USE. THE DANGER OF THIS LIES WITHIN THE FACT THAT NOT ALL RIDERS PUT THEIR MOTORCYCLE INTO NEUTRAL BEFORE RELEASING THE CLUTCH LEVER AND TURNING OFF THE BIKE NOR ARE THEY REQUIRED; WHICH MEANS THEY COULD UNKNOWINGLY PROPEL THE BIKE FROM UNDERNEATH THEM HURTING NOT ONLY THEMSELVES, BUT BYSTANDERS AS WELL AS PROPE
VEHICLE WILL NOT SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL WHILE VEHICLE IS RUNNING. WORKED FINE WHEN NEW. THIS PROBLEM STARTED 3-4 MONTHS AFTER NEW. LAST TIME AT THE DEALER (SF BMW MOTORCYCLES) WAS 3/25/17 - THE DEALER REPLICATED THE ISSUE, BUT DOES NOT HAVE A FIX. THE DEALER REQUESTED ASSISTANCE FROM BMW N.A. BMW N.A. STATES "THEY ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND HAVE REPLICATED IT ON OTHER BIKES", "NOT A DEFECT, BUT A FEATURE OF THE BIKE". BMW N.A. WILL NOT PAY TO HAVE THE BIKE SERVICED OR FIXED. SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE! NOT ONLY THIS MOTORCYCLE, BUT OTHERS WITH THE SAME TRANSMISSION HAVE THIS ISSUE AS WELL.
