What owners report
The check engine light illuminated on several occasions indicating the catalyst efficiency is below the threshold. The vehicle has not been repaired and is available for inspection. Audi dealership has inspected the car and said that the catalytic converters are bad and need to be replaced. The car only has 60,000 miles on it and has no other problems with the engine. The dealership says that there is no reason why the converters should be bad based on the vehicle history. the repair is cost prohibitive due to an estimate of $13,500 to replace the catalytic converters. The catalytic converters being bad is increasing the harmful pollutants causing unnecessary excessive tail pipe emissions.
FUELING ISSUES THAT CANNOT BE DIAGNOSED BY AUDI. REPLACED ENTIRE FUELING SYSTEM (PUMPS, MODULES, SENSORS, ETC)AND ISSUE STILL PERSISTS. CAR INTERMITTENTLY HESITATES AND STALLS AT IDLE AND UNDER LOAD. CAR STALLED ON INTERSTATE AND NEARLY CAUSED A REAR END COLLISION AT 80 MPH. THIS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AND TRAFFIC LIGHTS AND ON INTERSTATE. CAR WAS TAKEN TO AUDI DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO FIND ANY ISSUES. AUDI REFUSES TO RETURN CALLS OR EMAILS ON THIS ISSUE AND DOES NOT DEEM IT UNSAFE. MULTIPLE VEHICLES AFFECTED WITH THIS ISSUE WITH NO SOLUTION IN SIGHT.
2014 AUDI RS5 WITH APPROXIMATELY 15,000 IS EXPERIENCING BAD BRAKE SHUDDER AND PULSATING BRAKE PEDAL WITH LIGHT PRESSURE PUT ON THE BRAKES AT 50-60 MPH. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AFFECTING LOTS OF RS5S. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THE ROTORS ARE BAD. AUDI REFUSES TO REPLACE THEM UNDER WARRANTY. NOTE THAT AUDI CAME OUT WITH A REVISED BRAKE PAD TO PREVENT THIS ISSUE EARLIER IN 2016. T-MOBILE IS NOT PERFORMING TO SPECIFICATIONS ANYMORE. WE ARE NOT GETTING 3G SPEEDS AS ADVERTISED AND SOLD TO US. OUR SPEED IS 2G AT BEST.
2014 AUDI RS5 WITH 20,000 MILES W. SHUDDERING OF BRAKES. ON OCT 3. 2015 MY LOCAL MECHANIC TOOK ALL WHEELS OFF AND WE INSPECTED THE BRAKES. VISUALLY WE SAW NO PROBLEMS, NO SIGNS OF OVERHEATING, OR CONCERNS. HE SUGGESTED I TAKE IT TO THE DEALER. ON OCTOBER 9, 2015 I TOOK MY CAR TO AUDI OF ORLAND PARK AND AFTER AN INSPECTION, THE SERVICE MANAGER STATED THAT THE ROTORS HAVE HIGH AND LOW SPOTS, THAT I NEED NEW ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS, THAT AUDI ROTORS MUST BE REPLACED AT 20,000 MILES -HE HAS REPLACED ROTORS EVERY 13,000 MILES ON SOME CUSTOMERS CARS, THAT AUDI BRAKE ROTORS ARE THINNER THAN OTHER BRANDS AND THAT THERE WAS HEAT DAMAGE TO THE ROTORS.
