Wabash Van Trailer Recall 26V683: Wheel Bearing Lubricant May Seize Wheels, Risking Crash

NHTSA campaign 26V683, reported October 16, 2026, 475 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2027 Wabash van trailers were built with incorrect wheel bearing lubricant. Over time, this can cause the wheel end to seize, which can lock up a wheel while the trailer is moving.

Wheel lock-up can cause a loss of handling and control, which increases the risk of a crash. If you own an affected trailer, stop using it for towing until the lubricant has been checked.

The repair is free. Dealers will inspect the wheel bearings and replace the lubrication as needed at no charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 25, 2026. You can also contact Wabash customer service at 1-765-771-5404, and check your VIN for any open recalls.
