Grand Design Imagine Recall 26V667: Safety Chains May Fail, Letting Trailer Detach

NHTSA campaign 26V667, reported October 9, 2026, 148 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Grand Design Imagine travel trailers from the 2026 and 2027 model years have safety chains that are underrated for the trailer's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. The chains may not be strong enough for the load they are meant to carry.

If the chains are underrated, the trailer could detach from the tow vehicle while driving, which raises the risk of a crash. Owners should take this seriously and act promptly.

The replacement safety chains are free of charge at an authorized dealer. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 19, 2026. You can also contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679 with the recall number 910069, and check your VIN for any open recalls.
