What this recall means for you

This recall covers a 2024 Spartan Fire Metrostar emergency vehicle in which a control node may become unresponsive. When that happens, connected components such as exterior lighting and pump-mode functions can stop working.

A loss of exterior lights can make the vehicle harder for other drivers to see, which increases the risk of a crash. A loss of pump-mode function may prevent or delay the use of emergency equipment, which increases the risk of injury.

The remedy is free: Spartan Fire, working with Fire Research Corporation, will replace the I/O Nodes at no charge. The owner notification letter is expected to be mailed November 1, 2026. You can contact Spartan customer service at 1-517-543-6400 and reference recall number 26017.
