Ford Transit Connect Recall 26V650: Rearview Camera May Show Blank or Distorted Image

What this recall means for you

The rearview camera on certain vehicles may display a distorted, inverted, intermittent, or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse. This happened on vehicles that were already repaired under an earlier recall, and the problem can reduce your view behind the vehicle.

When the camera image is blank, distorted, or inverted, you may not see people, objects, or other vehicles behind you. This reduced view increases the risk of a backing crash. Until the repair is done, use extra caution, check mirrors and look over your shoulder carefully when backing up.

The repair is free: an authorized dealer will replace the rearview camera as needed. Interim owner letters were mailed in October 2026, and additional letters will follow once the remedy is available, anticipated in December 2027. Problem
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015 Transit Connect vehicles that were previously remedied under NHTSA recall number 25V572. The rearview camera may display a distorted, inverted, intermittent, or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse.
Risk
A rearview camera that displays an inverted, distorted, intermittent, or blank image can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the rearview camera as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed in October 14, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated in December 2027. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26S73. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on October 7, 2026.
