Road Rescue Type I Recall 26V649: Warning lights may fail, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 26V649, reported October 5, 2026, 66 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A control node in these ambulances can become unresponsive. When that happens, connected components such as the vehicle's warning lights may stop working, so other drivers may not see the ambulance coming.

A loss of warning lights can increase the risk of a crash. Emergency vehicles depend on their lighting to alert other road users, so a failure of this kind is a safety concern.

The repair is free. The manufacturer, REV Ambulance Group Orlando, Inc., will provide a replacement S-Node 8x16 (Node 5) at no cost. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed in October 2026. You can contact REVO customer service at 1-855-661-9232, and you can check your VIN for open recalls at an authorized dealer or on the NHTSA website.
