Forest River Surveyor Recall 26V647: Outdoor outlet may lack shock protection, risking injury

NHTSA campaign 26V647, reported October 5, 2026, 5 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

This recall covers certain 2027 Forest River Surveyor trailers whose exterior electrical receptacle may not be wired to a GFCI (ground-fault circuit interrupter) circuit. A GFCI is designed to cut power quickly when it detects a ground fault, such as current leaking through a person or a wet appliance.

Without that protection, the outlet may fail to shut off power during a ground fault, which increases the risk of electric shock or injury when the outlet is in use.

Owners should contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-642-3119 and reference recall number 37-2103. Dealers will rewire the exterior outlet at no charge. You can also check whether your vehicle has any open recalls by entering its VIN on the NHTSA website.
