Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2 Recall 26V632: School Buses May Have Weak Low Beam Headlights

NHTSA campaign 26V632, reported October 1, 2026, 30 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2027 Thomas Built SAF-T-LINER C2 and SAF-T-LINER C2 Jouley school buses have a software error that may cause the low beam headlights to illuminate improperly. The headlights may not provide enough light, which reduces the driver's visibility at night or in poor conditions.

Reduced low beam illumination makes it harder for the driver to see the road, pedestrians, cyclists, and other hazards in time to react, which raises the risk of a crash. Owners of affected buses should watch for the owner notification letter expected to be mailed November 30, 2026, and check their vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.

Dealers will inspect the headlights and replace them if necessary, free of charge. Owners can contact Daimler Trucks North America customer service at 1-800-547-0712 and reference recall number F1040.
