Cadillac Optiq Recall 26V612: Front windows may not reverse when closed by key fob

NHTSA campaign 26V612, reported September 24, 2026, 29,347 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Cadillac Optiq vehicles from model years 2025 through 2027 have a software problem in the body control module. When the front windows are closed using the key fob's express-up function, they may fail to detect an obstruction and may not reverse direction as they should. This means the vehicle does not meet federal window safety requirements.

A window that keeps closing on an obstruction instead of reversing can pinch a passenger before it retracts, which raises the risk of injury.

GM will update the body control module software at no cost, either at an authorized dealer or through an over-the-air update. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 9, 2026. You can contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006 with GM recall number N262567230, and you can check your VIN for open recalls on NHTSA.gov, where affected VINs became searchable on September 24, 2026.
