Mobility Trans Safetbus Recall 26V565: Wheelchair Lift May Not Stop, Risking Injury

NHTSA campaign 26V565, reported September 1, 2026, 55 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain transit buses with S-Series or K-Series wheelchair platform lifts may have an electrical contactor that can fail. When this happens, the lift controls cannot stop the lift from moving, even while a person is on it. A lift that keeps moving while occupied increases the risk of injury.

Dealers will correct the wiring by installing two diodes. The repair is free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 12, 2026. If you own or operate one of these buses, contact Forest River customer service at 1-800-348-7440 and reference recall number 51-2093. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
