Tiffin Wayfarer Recall 26V557: Propane Tank May Lack Shut-Off and Come Loose

NHTSA campaign 26V557, reported August 31, 2026, 88 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some 2026-2027 Tiffin Wayfarer motorhomes may have a liquid propane tank built without a remote shut-off, and the tank may be loose in its mounting bracket. A tank that cannot be shut off remotely raises the risk of fire. A loose tank could also detach while driving and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

Authorized Tiffin dealers will install a remote shut-off and replace the mounting bracket at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed October 20, 2026. For questions, contact Tiffin customer service at 1-256-356-8661 and reference recall WAY-108.

You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls to confirm whether your RV is affected.
