Wabash Van Trailer Recall 26V506: Trailer ABS Light May Be Unlabeled, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 26V506, reported August 4, 2026, 533 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2027 Wabash van trailers may not have the external antilock brake system (ABS) malfunction indicator light labeled as required. The trailers therefore do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 121 for air brake systems. Without a label, drivers behind the trailer may not understand what the light signals, which could contribute to a crash.

Wabash National Corporation will mail ABS identification labels and installation instructions to owners at no cost. Owner letters were mailed September 11, 2026. If you have questions or do not receive the labels, contact Wabash customer service at 1-765-771-5404.

Also check your trailer's VIN for any open recalls, and have the labels installed as directed in the instructions you receive.
